The open spec
The manifest, the join contract, the receipt and the Handoff record format are proposed for publication as an open specification with a reference implementation; nothing has been published yet.
Proposed license, not yet decided or published: the specification and the reference code under Apache 2.0, the documentation under CC BY 4.0, contributions under the Developer Certificate of Origin.
The specification is meant to interoperate with the A2A Agent Card, the MCP server description, and verifiable-credential and content-provenance formats, rather than replace them.
Naming a format here does not imply endorsement of Weio by its maintainers.
Handoff records are designed to be exported in full and checked offline, and the specification is meant to let anyone run their own instance.
